WildEye stopped at the edge of the territory. "I want all of you to stay in the center of the forest for now!" yelled WildEye. "I will be leaving for a few days. I want none to come with me. All I ask is that you stay in the forest and do not leave." WildEye walked away leaving her pack trotting into the forest.

"WildEye! Wait!" NewMoon ran to catch up to her Leader. "I have not been with the Morning long and I know not much about Haven, but there is something familiar about Steelclaw. Please let me come and speak with him. I would be no burden I assure you and I would let you talk privately about Deadclaw and Seth-" She spat out the hated name "-but I must speak with Steelclaw!"

Wind watched them leave... should he go? He wondered... Wildeye would kick him from here to the moon if she found out; But he was cureous. He didn't know if he should... it woluld mean chaos, but he needed to know, reluctaintly he slid behind them, his silver pelt shimmering as he slunk through the brush.

A blinding flash and all went black. NewMoon opened her eyes and recognised the outskirts of Morning territory. She smelled Wind. He had not yet crossed the border. NewMoon let out a long low howl of pain and grief. She had seen them. She had almost touched them. But WildEye and Ion had stopped her. Hate began to well up inside her. A silvery muzzle poked out through the undergrowth.
"Wind. . .?" NewMoon breathed.

"New Moon!" Wind saw the wolf clearly now. "I I lost you and then I saw them and then It went black but I got away with the wind and..." he stopped, noticing that it had no point she would think him nutz!!! "Are you alright New moon?" he asked instead.

"They were so close Wind. I-. . .I could almost touch them," NewMoon breathed. Her mind was full of black holes waiting to suck her being away from her. "And they stopped me. WildEye and Ion. They-. . ." NewMoon broke realising that Wind had been there as well. "Did you see them!" NewMoon demanded, "Were they there?"

"My pups, you idiot! My pups!" NewMoon yelled at Wind. But then she realised that he was young and inexperienced. "I'm sorry, Wind, but. . .I feel so confused. First confronting Seth and letting the truth be known, then Deadclaw changing, then Seth changing, then Steelclaw whom I recognise except for the wings and then WildEye and Ion stopping me from greeting my pups. Everythings changing, Wind. Nothing will ever be normal again."

Wind fely her words singe his fur like fire. "I know all of the crulties of life!!!" he roared, he eyes flaming. "My mother died when I was still suckling!!!" he snarled showing his teeth. "An evil wolf who murdered for fun took me in as her apprentace..." his eyes began to tear. "Have you ever wateched a loved one be killed and then have to eat them to survive?" he looked at her with large eyes.
